What’s wrong with people? Why do they intend on brushing away every sort of criticism that comes their way? I feel like I’m always hearing both sides problems’ with the opposite faction. I mean, I’m usually neutral on most issues, but when I have to hear one side talk about how so and so is a complete elitist dickbag, only to hear the next day from the other side that so and so on that side is a hopeless materialistic bucketbitch. Now I feel like everyone’s at each others throats practically. I must sound like an idealistic retard, but can we all get along in good fun?
That being said, through a certain childrens’ card game, I met an amazing couple. Having seen many of my peers relationships go sour, I was quite frankly flabbergasted and intrigued. They were as genuine as people could come. Not afraid to share problems, insights, honesty, and even the occasional bizarre but quite humorous childhood story. As we chatted about various things, I couldn’t believe how welcoming it was talking to them. No inside internet jokes, political rambles, personal drama, religious crusades, nor even a hint of exaggeration. If they were, they’d be the next Julia Roberts and George Clooney in Ocean’s Eleven. They could’ve swindled me with the greatest tale of their lives, but I wouldn’t care. It was fun. They aren’t geniuses, intellectuals, or even ideal personalities, but goddammit do they have the brightest smiles ever.
And that means a fucking lot.
